In order to send mail through your website in this way, you need to have the Ready-Set-Go! e-news package.

This tutorial assumes that you have an existing web page that you would like to send out.

Step 1. Adjust Page Information

In many cases, the page information is preset and you will not need to worry about it.  In some cases, you may need to update page information for the specifications of your current note.

Step 2: Send test mails

Sample Directmail screen

It is prudent to test your email content before you send it to your public list(s).

  • Click on Directmail from the left column.
  • On the page tree, click on the page to be sent [must be page type: directmail ()]
  • In the right column, you will see two buttons for sending mail.  One will send to the real target group(s)/receiver(s).  The other is for sending test mail.
  • Under "status test receivers" click the checkboxes for any test email addresses you want to receive test emails.
  • Click on the "send a testmail" button and the designated test emails will be sent immediately.

Step 5: Authorize the email (if part of your configuration)

If the real receiver(s) of your email is an announcement-only mailing list, you may need to authorize the email distribution to the actual mailing list.  This gives you one last chance to catch any errors in the email.  See Step by Step with Announcement-only mailing lists for more details.
